homework one
The final due date for this assignment is TBA. The recommended due date is September 28th, 11:59PM HOL time. Please send all assignments to holcharmsclass[at]gmail.com (replace the [at] with the @ symbol!) with the subject line "HW1 - [Your HOL name]" for homework and "EC1 - [Your HOL Name]" for the extra credit. So if I were sending mine in, they would say "HW1 - Ivelisse Ada" and "EC1 - Ivelisse Ada" in the subject line. Please also include your name, house, and HOL ID at the top of your e-mail. I need this info to give you your hard-earned points, so double check that it's there! If you have any questions or need help with anything, please don't hesitate to send me a HOL message (my ID is iv823). I am always happy to help!

Extra credit one
Please complete any combination of the following options for your 30 extra credit points.
INTRODUCTIONS (1o points)
Introduce yourself! Tell me who you are, why you're studying charms, what other classes you're taking, and what you're most excited to learn about in charms. Feel free to add extra info!
A PICTURE IS WORTH 1000 WORDS (and 20 points!)
Draw or create a graphic of something important from the lesson, such as one of the famous witches or wizards in charming history, or a wand with one of the wood-types mentioned in the lesson.
HISTORY'S WEAVE (2o points)
I briefly mentioned in-class that we aren't entirely sure why witches and wizards preferred to cast protective charms and the like on objects, rather than themselves, in the early years of charm-work. Please tell me why you think this was in at least 250 words, and post it in the appropriate class forum thread (Titled "Why Wear Charms?") You are welcome to respond to other people's posts, and you are also welcome to write your response in more of a story-form if that pleases you.
WHY HAVEN'T THEY INVENTED A PUZZLE-SOLVING CHARM? (20 points)
Unfortunately, that means you'll have to solve this puzzle of a charmed object by hand... but at least you still get class credit for it! Please send me the direct link only to a screenshot of your completed puzzle, uploaded to an image-hosting site like Photobucket or tinypic.
Puzzle can be found HERE.
