Homework three
The final due date for this assignment is January 14th (2016), 11:59 PM HOL Time. The recommended due date is November 25th, 11:59PM HOL time. Please send all assignments to holcharmsclass[at]gmail.com (replace the [at] with the @ symbol!) with the subject line "HW3 - [Your HOL name]" for homework and "EC3 - [Your HOL Name]" for the extra credit. So if I were sending mine in, they would say "HW3 - Ivelisse Ada" and "EC3 - Ivelisse Ada" in the subject line. Please also include your name, house, and HOL ID at the top of your e-mail. I need this info to give you your hard-earned points, so double check that it's there! If you have any questions or need help with anything, please don't hesitate to send me a HOL message (my ID is iv823). I am always happy to help!

TRUE OR FALSE (2o points, 1 point each)
Please indicate which of the following are true or false. If a statement is false, please correct it.
- The most-used movement charm is tarantallegra.
- You can summon living things with the Summoning Charm.
- The incantation for the Banishing Charm is be-gone!
- The Banishing Charms is much less specific than the Summoning Charm.
- It's very polite to practice the Banishing Charm on everyone you pass by.
- Chasers bow down to the Slow Movement Charm.
- The Slow Movement Charm is cast on slow-moving things (like teammates on a Quidditch team) to make them go faster.
- The Flying Charm is placed on all magical flying brooms.
- The Freezing Charm is fabulous for making frozen treats and desserts.
- The Freezing Charm can also be used to deactivate Muggle technology.
- If you want to move things around, you should cast a locomotor or mobilius spell.
- Students are especially terrible at packing their school trunks.
- If you really wanted to, you could use mobiliarbus to make the tree in your backyard "dance".
- Pronunciation isn't very important for the Levitation Charm. In fact, you can kind of just wave your wand around and say whatever you want and it will turn out just fine.
- The Levitation Charm does not allow you to control the movement of the object you are levitating.
- One of the most fun charms out there is glisseo.
- Glisseo makes your hair very glossy and smooth.
- Glisseo should always be used on the Grand Staircase, to help all my fellow students and staff get to the bottom faster. No one wants to be on any floor but the ground floor.
- Ascendio can be used to bring yourself to the surface of water.
- Creation of new Portkeys is regulated by the Ministry of Magic.

extra credit three
Please complete any of the following options for your 30 extra credit points.
A PICTURE IS WORTH 1000 WORDS (and 30 points!)
Draw or create a graphic of something important from the lesson, such as some form of representation of a charm or it's casting, or an inventor of one of the charms we've discussed. Please give me a brief (1 or 2 sentence at most) explanation of what is in your graphic.
CLASS CHARMS COMPENDIUM (30 points)
Charms inventing is very dangerous, and as such, we won't be doing any practical spell-inventing in this class. However, we can begin developing theoretical possibilities! Please create 5 possible new charms that fit under the category movement or transportation. Each charm is worth 6 points, so please tell me the name and incantation for the charm, the wand movement, and a few things about the charm's effect/intended use. Post your potential charms to the class forum under the thread Class Charms Compendium. Please make sure you write "Extra Credit 3 - Movement & Transportation" in bold at the top of your post. It might also be in your best interest to look at how charms are commonly named, but you don't have to follow this convention if you don't want to.
IT'S LEVIOSA... (3o points)
Once you get the hang of it, the levitation charm is one of the most useful charms there is. Today, I have an image for you of one of the many clever ways to use the charm. Complete the puzzle and upload a screenshot of the image to a photo-hosting site like Photobucket or Tinypic, and send me the direct link only. I'd be interested to know whether you'd use the charm this way!
Puzzle is HERE.
